Ms Tam Wai Sze Candice

Ms Tam Wai Sze graduated from the University of Hong Kong BSc (Speech and Hearing Sciences) with first- class honours) and started to work as a qualified speech therapist since 2002. In 2010, she was awarded Master of Science in Health Care (Rehabilitation of People with Developmental Disabilities) with Credit in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Ms Tam has been working with children with special needs in various settings, including special child care centers, early education and training centers, integrated child care centers, mainstream primary and secondary schools, and self-financed clinics of a non-governmental organization. In recent years, she has worked collaboratively with different professionals to provide school-based support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, their parents, peers and teachers in mainstream schools. She also took part in writing training publications (,個案及策略分享>). She is now being the consultant of Tung Wah Group of Hospital for the pilot project of JC A-Connect: Jockey Club Autism Support Network.

Ms Tam is working as the Clinical Associate supervising pediatric student placement of the Master of Speech Therapy program. She collaborates with the research team for launching the pilot writing program for children and adolescents with reading and writing difficulty. Also, she involves in the parent training program for helping parents with ways to enhance language development in daily life.

She has worked as a clinical supervisor for the final year student clinicians from the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences in HKU. Apart from local services, she has experience in providing consultative services to trainers of a rehabilitation center in Mainland. She speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
